PropTech platform case studyDocuments, history and community uploads in one map-based property search.

A founder wanted to give buyers and renters a clearer, more honest picture of properties. I took it from concept to a live product with 5-star client feedback.

In short

A non-technical founder wanted a clearer, more honest picture of properties for buyers and renters. I built a consumer platform with map-based search, an OCR pipeline for messy documents and community uploads — end to end, from concept to live product.

01 · The situation

Property information is scattered — or hidden.

A founder wanted to give buyers and renters a clearer, more honest picture of properties — pulling together documents, history, and community knowledge that's normally scattered or hidden.

02 · The challenge

Messy documents, dense maps, non-technical users.

Two hard problems at once: making sense of unstructured documents (scans, PDFs, inconsistent formats) and presenting dense location-based data in a way a non-technical user could actually navigate.

03 · What I built

A consumer platform, from concept to live.

A consumer web platform with map-based search, a document-processing pipeline that extracts information from uploaded files (OCR), community-contributed uploads, and clean user accounts and profiles.

04 · How it works

From messy uploads to searchable property records

  1. 01UploadsScans, PDFs, community files
  2. 02OCRText from messy real-world files
  3. 03Structured recordsSearchable fields per property
  4. 04Map searchFast with dense data
  5. 05Property pagesDocuments · history · community
Documents arrive as scans and PDFs in every format. The pipeline turns them into structured data that powers a fast, map-based search.
05 · The hard engineering

Making messy real-world data usable.

OCR document pipeline

Turns messy real-world uploads into structured, searchable data.

02

Fast, readable map UI

A responsive map interface that stays fast and readable even with dense data.

03

Privacy before publishing

Personal details are redacted from uploaded documents before anyone else can see them, and the pipeline fails closed if redaction cannot run.

04

Built to grow

Cloud storage, authentication, and a backend built to grow with usage.

06 · Key decisions

The calls that shaped the build

Why build an OCR pipeline instead of manual entry?

The value of the product is pulling together information that is normally scattered or hidden. That only scales if documents are read automatically.

Why a map-first interface?

Buyers and renters think in locations. A responsive map that stays readable with dense data makes the information usable by non-technical people.

07 · The outcome

A live product with 5-star client feedback.

As a non-technical founder building a technical platform, Sikandar played a critical role in bringing my vision to life. He helped design and implement the website from front to back and demonstrated strong full-stack capabilities throughout. The direction evolved several times as I refined requirements, and he remained flexible, professional, and accommodating. I'd recommend Sikandar to anyone looking for a reliable developer who can move quickly, communicate clearly, and execute.
